Death within two days of police arrest, wife’s writ in HC

The High Court sent a notice to the PI of Govt., Navrangpura seeking a reply

After two days of the death of a youth kept in the custody of Navrangpura police station, his wife has moved the High Court to file an FIR against the responsible police officers. Amisha Panchal submitted in the petition that her husband was arrested by Navarangpura police. Navarangpura police admitted him to hospital and he died there within two days. His condition deteriorated as he was tortured and beaten by the police. In this matter FIR is not taken against the responsible police of Navarangpura. Justice Hasmukh Suthar has issued a notice to the government and the PI and ordered them to submit a reply. Further hearing of which has been fixed on February 15. Navrangpura Police in Amia Deepak Panchal High Court An application has been filed in the High Court against the responsible including the PI of the station. It has been submitted that her husband was arrested by Navarangpura Police Station. And within two days of the arrest, the young man has died to file a complaint against the police officers A representation has also been made to the Commissioner of Police but no action has been taken. Special Investigation Team has been asked to investigate the case. What steps did the High Court take against the police in this case? A report has been ordered to be submitted regarding the action taken. The High Court advised the petitioner to wait till the completion of preliminary investigation. But it was argued on behalf of the petitioner that there is no situation in this case which can be waited for longer. Because police officers can destroy evidence and the police Officers are not investigated.
